1. Who offers KATKI

KATKI (net.yuroka.katki) is offered under the developer name Yuroka by an individual developer based in Türkiye. Contact: yuroka@yuroka.net.

2. What the app does

KATKI reads the barcode or the ingredients text of packaged food and compares the text with a fixed list: palm oil, added sugar, sweeteners, E numbers and the 14 allergens that labels must declare. Each flag comes with a short fact and its official source. Reading a photo happens on your phone and does not need an account.

3. For information only

Results come from the printed text on the package or from Open Food Facts data. Text can be misread. Open Food Facts data can be incomplete, out of date or wrong. KATKI flags only the items on its own list. It says nothing about an ingredient or E number that is not on it. A green result means that none of the items on the list were found; it is not a guarantee about the product. Allergen and “may contain traces” information is for information only and never changes the colour of the result. If you have an allergy, always check the printed text on the package, and ask the manufacturer if you need to. KATKI gives no medical or nutrition advice and does not replace the advice of a doctor or a dietitian.

4. Colours and sources

Red means the result contains an additive that is banned in food in the EU, or palm oil. The palm oil flag is KATKI's own product choice; it is not a legal ban. Yellow means additives for which the EU has set a label statement or changed a limit, or that EFSA has re-evaluated, and also sweeteners and added sugars. Green means that none of the items on the list were found. Each flag links to its official source: EU law (EUR-Lex), EFSA, the World Health Organization and the Turkish Official Gazette (Turkish Food Codex). The list may change over time.

5. Subscription and free trial

The first 3 reads are free and show the whole result. After that, reading needs KATKI Pro, a subscription: unlimited label and barcode reads, the history of your last 100 results, and “My list” (a banner on the result when palm oil, added sugar, a sweetener or an allergen you chose is in the product). You can close the payment screen and keep the app; the history and “My list” screens stay locked until you subscribe. There are two plans: weekly and yearly. The yearly plan has a 3-day free trial for new subscribers who have not used a trial before. Prices are shown in the store and on the payment screen for your country. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase; with a free trial, the first payment is charged when the trial ends. The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The renewal is charged to your account within 24 hours before the end of the period. If you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, you are not charged. You manage and cancel the subscription in your store account: on iPhone in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, on Android in Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. If you cancel, you can keep using KATKI until the end of the period you paid for. On a new phone or after a reinstall, “Restore purchases” unlocks what you bought. Payment, renewals, cancellation and refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their terms. RevenueCat processes your purchase history and an anonymous app user ID so the app can recognise what you bought.

6. Open Food Facts data

The product name and ingredients found by barcode come from Open Food Facts (world.openfoodfacts.org). The database is made available under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0: opendatacommons.org/licenses/odbl/1-0/. The individual contents of the database are made available under the Database Contents License (DbCL) 1.0: opendatacommons.org/licenses/dbcl/1-0/. The data belongs to Open Food Facts and its contributors. KATKI shows the line “Source: Open Food Facts (ODbL)” on the result screen, with a link to the product page. We do not verify this data. KATKI is not affiliated with Open Food Facts and is not endorsed by it.

7. Licence

You may install and use KATKI on your own devices for personal use. You may not copy, sell or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law allows it regardless of this clause.

8. Privacy

How data is handled is described in the privacy policy: your photos are read on your phone and are not sent; a barcode search sends only the barcode number to Open Food Facts. yuroka.net/en/apps/katki/privacy

9. Changes to the app

We may change, add or remove features, the list and the plans, or stop offering the app. Where you have paid for something, the store's refund rules still apply.

10. No warranty and limits of liability

KATKI is provided “as is”. We work to make it reliable, but we cannot promise that it will be error-free, that it will read every package correctly, or that it will suit every device or situation. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses caused by text that was misread, by incomplete or wrong Open Food Facts data, by an ingredient that is not on the list, or by decisions you make based on the results. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law, or liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Türkiye. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws, and of the courts of your place of residence, where they apply.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the current version is on this page with its date. If you keep using the app after an update, you accept it.
